Christmas Portrait + Summerville, South Carolina
Even in South Carolina, it still gets pretty chilly during these winter months but my friend Brittany braved the cold weather this evening so we could get some shots for the holiday season. Each year around Christmas time the Town of Summerville decorates the park in front of City Hall with holiday lights. An endless string of lights were weaved through the oaks of Hutchinson Square.
Downtown Charleston is definitely my favorite for on-location photo sessions, though I still love Summerville for it’s small town atmosphere.

Azalea Park along Main St. in historic Summerville is a popular place to see this time of year and for pretty good reasons. We were able to get some great shots of the leaves falling before the wind started to get really crazy. On another note, mark your calendar for April 1st – 3rd, 2011 for one of Southeast’s top 20 events: The 39th Annual Flowertown Festival! It’s a Summerville tradition offering artwork, foods from local restaurants, and other family activities taking place alongside the beautiful Azalea Park. Don’t miss it!

Last weekend, Rosa and I hit the Downtown Charleston area looking for some new places for a quick evening shoot. We were lucky to find some interesting locations just before sunset. With just enough light to take a few pictures, Rosa found a terrific alleyway with a long distressed brick wall covered with these really amazing vines. We had a great evening exploring downtown and I’m really excited to use these locations for my 2011 sessions!
And of course, we finished up our night at one of my new favorites in Charleston, Bocci’s Italian Restaurant.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of taking photos for my long time friend Todd Barnett and his beautiful family. The weather was perfect and we wanted to soak up as much of this amazing fall weather as we could. So, the session was particularly entertaining for me because Todd is a fellow photographer and he’s not used to being on the other side of the camera. Todd’s brother Chris, along with Ashely and Brooklyn got in on some of the action too. We had a really great time shooting downtown and ended the evening at Bocci’s Italian Restaurant.
